I would love love to have a library card catalog.  This image I found on Simple Notebook.  You can definitely find one on Ebay or Etsy.  They are quite pricey though.  The earrings are Kate Spade.  I am a sucker for studs.

Recipe Sharing

Some of my favorite recipe are from friends and family.  10 years ago my (then) neighbor shared her perfect recipe for chocolate chip cookies.  It is still a stable and a fav in my house.  This holiday season I will be trying recipe from friends I have never met.  Yup, via pinterest I will be trying recipes pinned by people I’ve met via social networking.  Here are a few I will definitely be trying.  {Click on the image for the link to the source and recipe}

Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Pie from Recipe Girl – This one I plan on making tomorrow to celebrate my husbands birthday.  (We have 3 birthdays in 1 week in our house!  My daughters’ on November 5th, mine is the 7th and Chris’ is on the 10th.)

Mini Fruit Filled Mini German Pancakes from Real Mom Kitchen – It is no secret that I love pancakes.  I also love powdered jelly donuts.  These mini pancakes look like the perfect mixture of the two!

Henri’s French Onion Soup from The Curvy Carrot – Who doesn’t love French Onion Soup?  Even my girls who dislike onions love it.

Chicken Milanese from Martha Stewart – This is actually a staple in our house.  My recipe is pretty similar.  I always offer mozzarella cheese on the size.  It’s especially delicious with a glass of Pinot Grigio.

As always I’d love to here your thoughts. Have a recipe you are excited to try? Share?

How I party.

It’s my birthday!  How will I celebrate?  With pancakes of course!  My favorite place to go for pancakes in Denver is Snooze.  If you in the area you have to check it out.  Great atmosphere and awesome food.  The wait is usually long but well worth the wait.  I highly recommend the Root Beer Float French Toast and coffee in there signature yellow mugs.

Not So Fancy Favorites

Just wanted to share some of my “not so fancy” products with you.  Some of them I have been using for years.  I know we all have them so please tell us yours!

1.  I love Almay’s eyeshadow thanks to my good friend Jana.  On a trip to Vegas a couple of years ago Jana introduced me to Almay’s eye shadow.  Jana’s makeup always looks amazing so I asked for her help.  Almay has a line of eye shadows that coordinates with your eye color.  So if you are like me and have no idea which shades will look best on you, Almay can help!  Try Almay’s Product Recommender.  {$5.99 at Target}

Here is a pic of Jana and I on that trip…

2.  Blush is a new endeavor for me.  Silly, I know.  But I don’t experiment much with makeup so I just recently decided to give blush a try.  I am loving Maybelline‘s Dream Mousse Blush (in rose petal 25).  {$5.94 at Target}

3.  Victoria’s Drenched in Pink Supersoft Body Lotion (in Fresh & Clean) is another daily must for me.  It smells so… well… fresh & clean.  I love it.  {$15 at Victoria’s Secret}

4.  I have been using this eyebrow pencil {soft brown} from Cover Girl since 11th grade.  I have tried others but this is my fav.  I have always had pretty thin eyebrows so I pencil them in a little to make them look fuller.  I don’t wear a lot of makeup but this is an absolute must for me.  {$3.59 at Target}

5.  Pajama Pants from the Gap!  {$34.95 at the Gap}

Share with us some of your favorite “not so fancy” aka “not so expensive” products.

Congrats to Katie O!  She won this Bird on a Branch Recipe Box.  Wonder if she’ll keep it for herself or give it as Christmas gift.

That’s right, I am thinking about Christmas shopping!  More than halfway done with my shopping.  So not like me.  Every year I say I am going to start early and this year I actually did.  Chris’s parents are visiting in early December then my parents will be here for the holidays so I don’t want to be running around while they are here.  I plan on cooking ahead before my parent’s arrival so I am on the hunt for Prep Ahead Recipes.  Do you have any you’d like to share?  I’d love some suggestions.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see what I am giving away this month!
